I skipped out on the St. John show Thursday night, leaving Caroline to man the post, and followed Lina and Steffie (fellow council members) down the street to catch the Petro Zillia show held in an airplane hanger-sized studio. The theme was Alice In Wonderland and I was looking to feed my head.
The trippy Disney movie was projected on a wall, and there were playing card chandeliers, giant paper mache mushrooms, and colorful cocktails.
Press was allowed early entrance and we were given mardi gras beads as our tickets. We were truly Girls Gone Fashion Week...
The main characters were done up in elaborate hair and make-up (by Karl Giant for Smashbox, he was everywhere) .
It was more like a fashion shoot than a runway show. Instead of a catwalk, there were sets where the models gathered and posed for
photographers while everyone else peeked over the velvet rope to catch a glimpse.
I loved the colorful dresses, sailor pants, and paisley shirts, there was a youthfulness and sweetness, like Lily Pulitzer, but way sexier...
DJ Steve Aoki manned the turntables and soon the place was going off. I was hoping for some mushroom tea but settled for the cocaine alternative, Red Bull and vodka.
