Saja's ethereal garden party frocks were definitely a highlight of the week. Designer Yoo Lee is one of Los Angeles fashion's fastest-rising stars, and her status is totally justified. Lee's eye is finely trained, and exquisite details like the most delicate pin-tuck or a covered button or a satin bow were truly a pleasure to behold. Her filmy silk gowns were cut to perfection, but she can also tailor a kicky pair of high-waisted shorts. The slinky open-weave knit dresses had a bit of Bonnie Parker about them, a different twist on the '30s flair that ran throughout the collection.
The above photo shows actress Melanie Lynskey (R), who co-starred with Kate Winslet in Peter Jackson's deliriously twisted 1994 film Heavenly Creatures (which you must run and rent if you haven't seen it). Here wearing Marc Jacobs, the fashionable gal said she adores Saja's "floaty and feminine" feel. Lyndskey is currently shooting Flags of Our Fathers, a WWII drama directed by Clint Eastwood, and she thanks her lucky stars every day. "He's so amazing," the L.A. resident says of her director. "He has a kind spirit."
