The story is the true life tale about a daring (and semi-wacky) CIA mission to rescue six Americans during the Iran Hostage Crisis. After several years, the planets aligned, and the story wound its way from print in Wired —
— to the big screen with Warner Brothers:
The movie is good. And no, I'm not biased. OK, maybe I am somewhat biased. But other people think it's good too. And that's due in no small part to the talent of Chris Terrio, who wrote the screenplay, and this guy:
The movie comes out October 12th!
I read this article about the escape of the US diplomats and you got a few facts wrong. You referred to the destroyed US Army helicopters during the rescue mission (Operation Eagle Claw), and the helicopters were not Army helicopters but US Navy helicopters (RH-53s) flown by US Marines. All you had to do was fact-check this instead of assuming. How many other facts in this story were assumed vice fact-checked? We all wonder...???
